Zach Arnett Coaching Record

Mississippi State Coach Zach Arnett Leaves After One Season

Disappointing End to Bulldogs Tenure

Wins at Major Schools, Bowl Record, and Defensive Improvements

Zach Arnett, who was appointed as the 35th head coach in Mississippi State program history on December 15, 2022, has left the Bulldogs after just one season. Despite some impressive accomplishments, including wins at major schools and a bowl record, Arnett's departure comes as a surprise to many.

During his tenure, the Bulldogs made significant defensive improvements. Points allowed per game decreased from 288 in 2019 to 242 in 2022. This marked a positive trend and showed Arnett's ability to implement effective defensive strategies.

Despite these improvements, the Bulldogs did not reach the heights expected by fans. Arnett's overall record at Mississippi State was 5-6, including a 1-0 record in bowl games. The team's performance on the field may have played a role in Arnett's departure.
